NASPAA, the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration, is the global standard in public service education. NASPAA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) membership association with over 300 institutional member schools at U.S. and non-U.S. based universities that award degrees in public administration, public policy, public affairs, nonprofit, and related fields. NASPAA’s Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation (COPRA) is the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)-recognized accreditation body for master's degree programs in public and nonprofit policy, affairs, and administration. To date, 208 programs at 194 institutions across 11 countries are accredited by NASPAA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the global NASPAA Accreditation process, including liaising with representatives of accredited programs, answering questions related to NASPAA Accreditation review and maintenance, implementing accreditation operations, and identifying opportunities to improve existing accreditation operations. 
  • Oversee the use of database systems to efficiently organize, store, and analyze accreditation data, including formulating a plan for quality data collection and management that ensures adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of accreditation and assessment data while assessing data needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the site visit process, including liaising with volunteers and programs undergoing the accreditation review cycle and assisting with volunteer training enrollment and reimbursement processes.
  • Conduct research and data analysis of performance and trends across accredited programs to develop reports, briefs, and memos to support the work of COPRA.
  • Coordinate marketing and communication efforts, including the development and dissemination of high-quality materials describing the accreditation process and benefits of accreditation, and the creation of recruitment communications to develop the volunteer and accredited program pipeline.
  • Under the guidance & direction of the Chief Accreditation Officer, develop expertise on strategic program management and program quality improvement as it relates to the NASPAA Accreditation Standards, to support programs seeking accreditation and advance quality assurance in the public service field.
  • Assist with accreditation initiatives such as workshops, volunteer recruitment campaigns, providing support to Minority Serving Institutions (MSI), and supporting committees and sections.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Accreditation Officer, including meeting planning, outreach, and other administrative matters.
  • Support and attend biannual COPRA Meetings and NASPAA Annual Conferences (this year taking place during October 20-25, 2024) including but not limited to contributing to pre-meeting preparation, staffing panels, workshops, and receptions, and assisting COPRA members and conference attendees as needed.
  • Liaising with NASPAA Committees and Sections to coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure alignment of activities with NASPAA’s bylaws and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with NASPAA staff to support NASPAA initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, International Affairs,
  • Nonprofit Management, Political Science, or similar degree
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; some non-profit experience preferred
  • Experience working in the higher education sector or working with accreditation agencies a plus
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and complete projects
  • Flexible self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality for all accreditation information and communications
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently and part of a collaborative effort
