Network of Networks NASPAA @ NAPA 2024
NASPAA Leadership and members attended the 2024 Fall Meeting of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA), which took place November 13-15 in Washington, DC. Representing NASPAA were 2024-2025 President, Dr. Mohamad G. Alkadry (School of Public Service, University of Connecticut); Immediate Past President, Dr. RaJade M. Berry-James (VCU L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs); and COPRA Chair, Dr. Angie Eikenberry (School of Public Service, University of Connecticut). NASPAA Simulation Director and Membership Services, Alex Minkoff, and Interim Executive Director, Martha Bohrt, were also in attendance, as were many faculty from our member institutions.
The conference provided valuable discussions on key issues, including expected “stress tests for American Democracy” and updates on the Future Shocks Initiative, which explores strategies for “Building Future-Ready Governments.” The meeting provided engaging opportunities to exchange ideas with leaders in the field, as well as a space to connect with NAPA leadership.
We are grateful to NAPA Academy for hosting us at this impactful event. NASPAA’s Strategic Area # 3: “Promoting Public Service” calls for continued collaboration with peer organizations. We look forward to continued cooperation with NAPA to further our commitment to advancing the public service profession.
