Standard 2: Matching Governance with Mission

Standard 2.1: Administrative Capacity

The program will have an administrative infrastructure appropriate for its mission, goals, and objectives in all delivery modalities employed.

Standard 2.2: Faculty Governance

An adequate faculty nucleus—at least five (5) full-time faculty members or their equivalent—will exercise substantial determining influence for the governance and implementation of the program.

To ensure that programs can support program delivery and pursue their mission, Standard 2 confirms that program administrative structure matches its mission and activities. At least 5, full-time faculty nucleus members should be responsible for participating in the governance and delivery of the program. COPRA seeks evidence of governance and administrative leadership that ensure the integrity of the program. For programs with multiple delivery modalities (satellite campuses, online program, etc.), the capacity of the faculty to deliver the program becomes a more complicated question.
